Unicycle Joe

8 Months Later, here it is.

For those who want to know, the film was animated solely using Flash, Bgs and layouts created and painted in Photoshop, and everything was composited back into After Effects. I don't think this film would have been possible without Flash, though. I will be posting up some making of stuff eventually, but not until I get some decent R&R.

For those interested in the process work, Philip Rodrigues, my partner in crime on the film, put up his demo reel with some of the earlier stuff pre-after effects.

Color Script 1.0

Hi all,

This is my first pass at a color script for the film. It's over-representing the parts in the middle so I'll have to add more panels, plus the colors will go through endless tweaking until I get it to feel just right.

I gotta say it's a fun part of the process!

More Layout...

Hey all,

I know some of you are curious as to the progress of the film...

Well.. we've completed all the layouts and are working out the background paintings on the fly... As for animation, we're well into rough animation, and I believe we've roughed out a majority of the scenes.

Anyways, this is a first pass at one of the beegees. Needs quite a bit more work, but pretty much everything does!

By the by, I'll be looking for help with the film production soon. I'm particularly looking for people for voice acting, music, background painting, cleanup, and cel coloring. If anyone wants to help, shoot me an email.

Story is King...

I know that I've been posting mostly life drawing up since September so far. Truth is, the story reel for my film is taking up pretty much all of my time, with design playing second fiddle for now.

I can only really get to design when I find some spare time in between, which is pretty rare.

Momma...

So it's reading week....

That means lots of work and probably sparse posting...

The film is coming along swimmingly. We're at a leica reel (story reel, for you Yanks) stage and are just refining and whittling things down.

Oh, and another note - I will need help with voice actors real soon for the scratch track - if anyone wants to audition for a middle-aged woman and a 8 or 9 year old boy, let me know!
