Some more Clairefontaine stuff.

Some more stuff in pencil crayon. Mostly 5 minute poses, but not drawn for the entire pose (so I'd say around 3 minutes worth of drawing on most).

I wanted to thank Andre Barnwell for the wonderful plug he gave this blog. I totally agree with the comment on the post regarding the fact that Andre is every bit as good as that "guy you're promoting" (who happens to be me). Again, thanks Andre, I can't say enough how cool it is to see fellow classmates liking and linking my work. Oh, and no, I don't go to third year life drawing class, though I'd like to. Extra life is a different story, however....

I guess in the spirit of linking, I also wanted to link Casper and Trevor, whose short film "Bazo" I'm helping out with. Watch out for it, It looks like it's gonna be pretty killer.

Also, check out Robert Kim and Alexandre Cote for some killer digital paintings.

That's all for now, see ya later!

Life draw-wing.

Today's.

Today's stuff

Sorry that I haven't been updating.. been really busy.

I forget the paper's exact name. I know it's by Clairfontaine, and it's a type of colored ingres (pastel) paper. The texture is pretty light. Good for pencil crayon stuff especially I find (which is what this is)

Life Drawing?

I keep seeming to have posting problems... Hopefully they'll let up..

Anyways, had some trouble drawing today - a lot going on and some new pastels that weren't pointed yet contribute to this.

Ooooooo!

oooooo! Something moving!

Too bad it sucks....

Fun Exercise...

Here's a fun exercise from today - Block in a 2 minute (or 1 minute) pose and draw the rest from memory.

This is one of them. Around 10 minutes of drawing I believe. I think this'll be really interesting once I apply it to poses with more action.

No art for today :(

Sorry, no art for today.

But I -did- want to thank you guys for giving me over 1090 hits in one week, I'm now just under 4100! Again, thanks for linking if you did.

I thought I'd plug some cool blogs that have been popping up around the net.

First off, my two faithful conspirators/roommates Phil and Dave have recently joined the Sheridan Animation blogging crew. Make sure to keep checking back on their stuff.

My good friend Max has also recently started blogging. I really recommend checking out his blog regularly, I'm sure some mad character stuff will consistently be posted.

Not sure that she needs more plugs, but Robin Hall's blog is looking really cool. Bug her to update!

Sarah and Marceline (who assures me will be blogging soon) are two talented ladies whose sites are definetly worth 'regularing.'

Brandon's got a great 50's inspired painting style going on. Definetly worth a look if you haven't been.

Normand has been posting some wicked boards up on his site, and Robin consistently blows me away.

Last but not least check out Mark Kennedy's blog for some really nifty tips on things like leading the eye, composition, and light and shadow.

I'll be posting some new life drawing tomorrow.

Sony's Deal

So what's the deal with Sony lately? With the PS3 being delayed until November, how are they keeping on top of videogames? Well, apparently, the PSP "has brought in more than $1.6 billion as of calendar year 2005, more than both Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS combined." (per Gamespot). The coolest thing that happened was them announcing A price cut, a GPS Module, A VOIP camera video-chat accessory, and a PSOne emulator for the PSP that lets you play PSOne games. Oh yeah, and apparently the PSP might even play Spore.

Two life drawing sessions in one day?

Better not overdo it....

(P.S. Yes, thanks to whoever anonymously commented that this looks like Andrew Scheglov's stuff. I'd have to say that my 'style' if it can be so-called is just an amalgamation of just everything that I see that I think is good, by others (Isn't this how we all gain visual vocabulary, anyways?). Scheglov is definetly better at this, but I liked it and thought I'd give it a try. Does it make it wrong for me to draw on Manilla with charcoal because I saw Robin drawing with it? Or can I not draw with colors on Kraft paper because Aaron used it? Or if I think it's cool should I try it out? Just my two cents.)

Bobby Choo-choo

Just a fun drawing of Bobby Chiu.

Another Canson

Who'd guess... more life drawing...

Spore

Cliff and Randeep pointed me towards this video for the the videogame Spore. Pretty amazing, no?

Two for the Count.

Not one, but two models in life drawing today. First is a 10, second is a 15. Ab and Jess, I think their names are.

Subway Sketching

Just some sketches I did at Bobby Chiu's Subway Sketching thing with Sarah, Marceline, Jordan, and Guillaume. Was a whole lotta fun.

I would definetly recommend it to anyone dealing with strikes and stuff. Or maybe go to the zoo. I suggest that too.

Body Worlds

Hey there,

Wasn't too happy with my life drawing from today. So I thought I'd post some older stuff.

This is from the body worlds 2 exhibit at the Ontario Science Centre. It's the swordsman, the man divided into three at the thigh.

Oh, by the way, I hit 3000 hits today because of you guys. Thanks a bunch for coming back.

Special thanks to all of you who linked me - you guys are champs. Seeing as how linking seems to be the most common way that blogs are being circulated, make sure to link everyone who you keep checking back on - It's a surefire way to make the blog community go round and round.

Two Debs

My favorite model.

I pulled a fast one..

3 quick drawings, between 30 seconds and 1 minute as marked.

Definetly rusty with the fast poses...

Rachel

Not the best one I've ever done, but you win some, you lose some...

Cool!

Want to see some great work?

Make sure to check out this new blog for House of Cool, a wicked studio in downtown Toronto. Some of the best artists that I know work there.

Make sure to check out there actual site too.

Mighty inspirational, I say!

More!

To celebrate the extended reading week (a.k.a college teacher's strike), here's some life drawing from extra life today! (Sorry, Yesterday... these are actually from Monday's extra life)

Tons and Tons of Life Drawing

Yeah, yeah I know.

Most of them from class today.

Handed in my Portfolio today. Got an A. No, the above is not my portfolio, just drawings I did in class. The portfolio drawings I think was just an assortment of what I've posted in the past.
